Former Senate President Bukola Saraki has announced the passing of his mother, Florence Morenike Saraki.

The sad news was shared by TVC News on social media Tuesday evening.

Florence Morenike Saraki, aged 88, was the widow of Olusola Saraki, a prominent senator during the Second Nigerian Republic and a political icon in Kwara until his death in 2012. The Saraki family had recently celebrated her 88th birthday in August 2023.

Her passing marks the end of an era for the Saraki family, who have been influential figures in Nigerian politics for decades.
