On that day, Segun, also known as Sanjay, allegedly shot Moruf twice.
On Saturday, the deceased died as a result of gunshots.
According to our source, Moruf was the leader of a private security firm until his death.
Segun, who works for F-SARS in Lagos State, enjoys shooting into the air twice every night when he visits his family in Ibadan.
Residents in the area where the policeman’s rented apartment is located were not pleased with the officer’s demeanor.
Our correspondent learned that members of the private security outfit led by Mr. Moruf were also dissatisfied with the policeman’s demeanor because it instilled fear and tension in the minds of the residents.
Members of the security team complained to their boss, who then went to Segun to express their displeasure.
Segun was also said to have stopped shooting at night after Moruf expressed his displeasure.
After a few weeks, he resumed whenever he returned from Lagos.
According to the investigation, Segun returned home around 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 17th, and fired twice on air.
Moruf, a local resident, went to confront Segun about the unnecessary shootings.
In the process, the officer allegedly shot the OPC member twice. The deceased passed away on Saturday.
According to the findings of reporters, the police officer fled the area immediately and has not returned to his home as of yet.
According to reports, angry residents stormed Segun’s wife’s shop and destroyed it.
It was also reported that the enraged mob planned to torch Segun’s rented apartment, but the landlord intervened, claiming that the house did not belong to Segun.
“I have appealed to our members not to take the law into their own hands, but the police and the government should arrest and prosecute the officer.” We don’t want a squabble between the OPC and security agents.”
However, all attempts to reach the spokesman for the Oyo State Police Command, Adewale Osifeso, since Tuesday have been futile.
