Newcastle were floored by EFL League side, Cambridge United F.C following a 1-0
win in the FA Cup on Saturday 8th.

The defeat has therefore, seen the richest club in the Premier League knocked out of the tournament.

The third-tier Yellows slammed the Magpies at St James’ Park to book their place in the court round of the competition.

Also, the relegated Huddersfield Town also made it to the fourth round having edged Burnley in a 2-1 comeback.

Newcastle’s highest-paid player, Kieran Trippier who was signed from LaLiga Title-holders, Atlético Madrid made his debut in the game but couldn’t do anything to save his side from the humiliation.

Joe Ironside from the visiting team scored the only goal in the 56th minute to give Amber Army the lead.

Meanwhile, Eddie Howe’s side had been too unfortunate to have two goals ruled out in the match.

Newcastle coach, Eddie Howe commented after the game: “The size of the task remains what it is, I just hope the game doesn’t damage our players’ confidence.”

“I don’t think there was anything wrong with our attitude, we just couldn’t deliver the quality to score.”

Newcastle is on the penultimate spot (19th position) in the English Premier League table with 11 points in 19 matches so far.
