Faith Ekwebenam from Anambra State has emerged as the new Miss International Nigeria 2025, clinching the crown at the national finale held on Sunday.

In the tightly contested event, Miss Lagos finished as the first runner-up, while Miss Bauchi, Miss Edo, Miss Cross River, and Miss Nasarawa secured second to fifth runner-up positions. Ekwebenam takes over from Perpetual Ukadike, who flew Nigeria’s flag at the 2024 edition.

The Miss International pageant, considered one of the world’s “Big Four” beauty contests, highlights not just grace and elegance but also cultural exchange and social causes. Ekwebenam is expected to promote Nigeria’s cultural richness while championing goodwill initiatives globally.

In a separate competition, Anambra celebrated yet another milestone as Onyinyechi Basil won the Miss Universe Nigeria 2025 title at a glamorous finale in Lagos. Basil triumphed over Miss Lagos, Damilola Bolarinde, in the final showdown, with Miss Bayelsa, Fortune Kurobo, and Miss Ogun, Irene Ikediashi, finishing as second and third runners-up.

With both crowns now in Anambra’s hands, the state has made history by producing winners of Nigeria’s two most prestigious international beauty titles in the same year — a feat that industry watchers have described as unprecedented.

All eyes are now on Ekwebenam and Basil as they prepare to showcase Nigeria at the Miss International pageant in Japan and the Miss Universe competition later this year.
