The wave of fake certificates has reached alarming proportions, prompting examination boards in Uganda and Kenya to seek the assistance of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) in verifying the credentials of Nigerian students seeking admission into their universities.

This unprecedented move is a direct response to the growing concern that fake certificates are being used to gain admission into higher institutions, undermining the integrity of the educational system.

JAMB has reassured the public that it will not compromise on the authenticity of records, stating, “We will not falsify records. Uganda and Kenya examination boards are now writing to JAMB to confirm records presented by candidates for admission.”

This development is a significant step towards combating the menace of fake certificates and ensuring that only genuine students are admitted into universities. The collaboration between JAMB and examination boards in Uganda and Kenya sets a precedent for international cooperation in combating educational fraud.
