Nigerian rapper and singer Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has explained why he is still single at 33.
He said he is “being careful” not to rush into marriage. Despite pressure from his parents, particularly his father, Femi Falana, Falz insists he won’t be pressured into getting married.
In a recent interview with Naija 102.7 FM in Lagos, Falz shared, “I’m not yet married. I’m single to stupor. My dad expresses concern over my marital status daily. If I greet my dad good morning, he would say the morning will be good if you were married. Both my mum and dad are deeply concerned, although my dad pressures me the most. My mum is a bit calmer now. It seems like she has passed the baton to my dad. No one can pressure me into getting married, not even my dad [laughs].”

Falz mentioned that his last serious relationship was during his university days. He noted that his celebrity status makes it challenging to find the right partner for marriage.
“Currently, I’m not dating anyone. I’m a straight man. I like women. But I haven’t had a serious relationship for a while. The last time was when I was still in university. My lifestyle as a celebrity makes it difficult to find someone to commit to. There are many things happening in the industry that make balancing a booming career and a healthy relationship seem tough. So, I’m just trying to be careful. There’s no issue, I’m just being cautious.”
