The families of late Chief Ogbe Onokpite, a former gubernatorial candidate of the Citizens Popular Party (CPP) in Delta state, have maintained their commitment to ensuring that justice prevails over the unjust killing of their brother who was allegedly murdered by the police 9 years ago.

The family members reiterated their demand for justice during a peaceful protest at the venue of the Judiciary Panel of Inquiry to Police Brutality and extra judicial killing seating at the Governor’s Office Annex in warri, Delta state.

While chatting with newsmen outside the venue, brother of the deceased, Mr Victor Onokpite and comrade Karo Erueme, said the family will stop at nothing to ensure that justice is served accordingly, adding that they are at the Judiciary Panel to push for justice to prevail.

They explain that the death of their brother still hurts them and greatly left a huge gap in the family and close associates he left behind.

The lawyer to the family, Barrister Eriata Odiana, while addressing newsmen stated they are expecting a positive ruling from the Judiciary Panel, stressing that they are hoping the ruling of the police investigation into the killing of Late Ogbe Onokpite will be upheld and the police officers involved will be duly brought to justice.

He explained that the Judiciary Panel of Inquiry has shifted the hearing to Wednesday 25th November 2020 and that they are hoping that they will be duly heard and justice will prevail.

It would be recalled that late Chief Ogbe Onokpite was murdered on November 26, 2011 at Udu, Udu Local Government Council in Delta state by five police operatives indicted for the murder.
