Confra Naija, an online platform known for monitoring cult activities, claimed that the assailants, believed to be members of the Eiye confraternity, had initially targeted Timothy’s brother, a member of the rival Aye group. Unable to find him, they turned on Timothy, forced him to unlock his phone, transferred money, and shot him.
Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed Timothy sustained a fatal head injury during an altercation with unidentified men. “The police cannot yet confirm if it was a gunshot or machete wound. The family has reported the case, and his body has been taken to the mortuary,” she said.
This tragic incident underscores the ongoing threats of cult-related violence and armed robbery in parts of Lagos State, highlighting the urgent need for improved security in residential areas.
