Tens of thousands of fans are calling for UEFA to order a replay of the Euro 2024 quarter-final between Germany and Spain.

In the match last Friday, Germany lost 2-1 in extra time of Euro 2024 Quarter-Final, with Mikel Merino scoring the decisive goal in the 119th minute.

Dani Olmo initially put Spain ahead in the second half, but Florian Wirtz scored a dramatic equalizer for Germany in the 89th minute.

The controversy erupted in the 23rd minute of extra time when Spain’s Marc Cucurella blocked a shot from Jamal Musiala with his hand inside the penalty area. German fans and players were sure it should have been a penalty, but referee Anthony Taylor and his VAR team disagreed and allowed play to continue.

By Monday morning, more than 30,000 people had signed a petition on change.org demanding a replay of the match.
