Music executive Dayo ‘D1’ Adeneye shared that fans often faint when iconic musician 2Baba performs. In a recent appearance on the ‘Deep Dive’ podcast with comedian Teju Babyface, Adeneye recounted an incident where four women fainted during a concert in Ivory Coast as 2Baba took the stage.
Adeneye, who directed 2Baba’s former label, Kennis Music, reminisced about the label’s peak, boasting over 50 artists across various genres. He specifically recalled, “At Kennis Music’s height, we had over 50 artists. We signed everyone from gospel to hip-hop to fuji.”
He highlighted a memorable tour in Ivory Coast, saying, “During one show, I brought a girl on stage to hug 2Face, and she fainted. In total, four girls fainted that night. Despite the language barrier, as Ivory Coast is a francophone country, the audience knew all his lyrics. We initially thought it was a joke, but it was serious enough that an ambulance had to intervene. They fainted simply because they were in 2Face’s presence.”
