The deal sends promising Nigerian talent to Portugal and marks a major early step for Tonic FC.
Tonic FC started just six months ago and lists FC Esmoriz as its parent club.
The Lagos side played in the recently concluded NLO championship and narrowly missed promotion despite strong performances.
“Tonic FC is a veritable football factory based in the lovely Ikorodu community of Lagos State. This is just a tip of the iceberg, because we’ve many other young and talented footballers, who would soon join the professional ranks in a not too distant future,” – the football administrator said.
Coaches singled out goalkeeper Ayuba Oyetola, who towers at 6’9 and combines size with quick learning.
The five players will travel to Portugal in the coming weeks to complete medicals and join training stints before they enter FC Esmoriz’s development squads.
As a result, they will gain exposure to European coaching and a clear path into professional football.
For Tonic FC, the signings prove its mission i.e find and develop grassroots talent in Ikorodu and beyond.

Ahead of the trip, both clubs will finalise paperwork and prepare the players for the next stage.
