The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has said that it will review the recent price hikes by MultiChoice for its cable subscriptions in Nigeria.
The investigation aimed to ensure that Nigerian subscribers receive fair value for their money.
Adamu Abdullahi, the Acting Chief Executive officer (CEO) of FCCPC, spoke exclusively to Channels Television, updating the public on the discriminatory and sharp practices of the owner of a Chinese store in Abuja.
Abdullahi also mentioned that the Agency will soon impose sanctions for all verified infractions committed by the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company.

MultiChoice, a major satellite television service provider in Sub-Saharan Africa, recently announced an increase in prices for its DSTV and GOtv packages due to the rise in overall business costs.

MultiChoice had announced that starting from May 1, 2024, the price increases will take effect.
For example, the Premium package on DSTV, which used to cost N29,500, will now cost N37,000.
The Compact Plus package, which currently costs N19,800, has been raised to N25,000.
