Newly inaugurated minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike has vowed demolition illegal buildings in the city.
Daily Report Nigeria reports that the former Rivers State Governor vowed to restore the city’s master plan.
Wike spoke in high spirits on Monday August 21, after his inauguration, saying that President Bola Tinubu expects positive changes in capital city.
The Minister also expressed displeasure on what he described as a high level of insecurity in the nation’s capital.

Speaking at a press conference at the FCTA after the swearing-in ceremony at the Presidential Villa, Wike said land allottees who have been given Certificates of Occupancy but failed to develop would also lose their lands to give way to those ready to build.

He said:
“If you built houses where you are not supposed to build them in Abuja, I will demolish the houses and nothing will happen. Heaven won’t Fall.
“All those land you bought for many years without developing them I will revoke them.
“Even those uncomplicated building in FCT I will take them back and sell them to those who are ready to develop Abuja.”
