FCTA To Spend N1bn On Renovation Of National Mosque, Christian Center
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mohammed Bello, on Thursday June 2, said that the Federal Government will be spending N1bn on the renovation of National Mosque and National Ecumenical Center.
The minister revealed this during the 40th session of the state house ministerial briefing organized by the presidential communications team.
He also revealed that the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has started generating over N200 billion annually through its aggressive internally generated revenue (IGR) drive.

According to him, the FCT now rated second in terms of IGR drive, intends to beat Lagos as the highest revenue generating state in the country.
While the sum of N1 billion (N500 million each) had been set aside to renovate the National Mosque and National Christian Centre, to make them presentable tourists sites for visitors into the city of Abuja, the administration will also renovate the Federal Secretariat and National Assembly. The sitting arrangements in the two chambers at the national assembly would be changed.
Bello also stated that his administration will make sure that at least a substantial aspect of the work is done before his successor takes over.
