The Federal Ministry of Works has finally fixed the Onitsha–Owerri road which severed about two weeks ago.

The collapsed portion of the federal road has discommoded the commuters and automobilists using it.

The incident had also compelled passengers to cross to Onitsha end by foot during those time vehicles from Owerri could not enter Onitsha.

Traffic has therefore, resumed on the road last weekend after it has been fixed.

Mr. Adeyemo Ajani, Anambra Federal Controller of Works exulted in the timely completion of the project.

He said that the fixing of the road was sped up by the service of the Ministry of Works who succesfully did the work.

Adeyemi delightedly stated:“We are happy to announce that the road has been fixed and traffic flow restored.”

“The cause of the problem is that a section of the drainage was blocked around the dump site and flood was diverted to the road.”

“This caused the collapse of a section of the road. We have unblocked the culvert and normal flow has resumed.”

“We hope nobody will block it again, otherwise, that person will be deemed to be against the entire nation. ”
