N15 billion has been allocated by the Federal Government for the comprehensive repairs of the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos.
This is according to details from the recently passed N2.18 trillion 2023 supplementary budget.
Also, the government has disclosed that it owes contractors of the Eko/Marine Bridges N11.4 billion.
Olukorede Kesha, the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos State, in a statement announced that the Third Mainland Bridge would be closed for five weeks of repairs starting on Monday, November 6, 2023.
According to Kesha: “Given the above, the motoring public is now notified that the repair works will commence with the ramps connecting Oworoshoki to Adekunle and Lagos-Island (Adeniji Adele) to Adekunle simultaneously.
“Consequently, the two ramps mentioned above will be closed to traffic by 7 am on Monday, November 6, 2023, for five weeks.”
