The Federal Government has reiterated its commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s security framework by equipping the Police Force and other agencies with modern tools, better training, and sustained logistical support.

President Bola Tinubu, represented by Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, spoke at the Passing Out Parade of Regular Course 7/2019 Cadets of the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano.

Describing the event as a “momentous milestone,” Tinubu praised the Academy for its transformation into a fully accredited degree-awarding institution and acknowledged the contributions of patriotic Nigerians in nurturing the force.

“Our vision is clear: to raise a Police Force that is well-educated, well-trained, and fully equipped to manage internal security with dignity and fairness,” he said. “The cadets are not just law enforcers; they are guardians of our collective security. They must serve with integrity, professionalism, and selfless dedication.”

The President stressed that tackling insecurity requires more than equipment. He highlighted the government’s multi-pronged strategy targeting root causes through economic growth, social cohesion, and inclusive development.

He also reassured cadets that their welfare and professional growth would remain a top priority. Tinubu commended families for supporting the officers, calling them vital partners in nurturing disciplined, patriotic, and service-driven officers.

“Let us look to the future with hope and determination. Together, we can build a Nigeria that is secure, just, and prosperous for all,” the President concluded.
