Government alleges £18,000 rent linked to disputed UK property in the case.
The Federal Government has filed a fresh 12-count criminal charge against Senior Advocate of Nigeria Mike Ozekhome and Ponfa Useni, also known as Tali Shani, over alleged forgery and unlawful claim to a property in the United Kingdom.
The charge was filed before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, by the Federal Ministry of Justice on behalf of the government.
Prosecutors alleged that the defendants conspired to forge a Nigerian passport and other documents to support a claim to a property located at 79 Randall Avenue, London.

According to the charge, the alleged conspiracy began in 2020 when a passport bearing the name “Tali Shani” was reportedly obtained to back the property claim.
Authorities said the passport was purportedly issued by the Nigerian Immigration Service.
The government accused the defendants of forging and using the passport as genuine between 2020 and 2025 in connection with the disputed property.
The late General Jeremiah Useni was listed in several counts as a co-conspirator and was accused of impersonating a fictitious individual named Tali Shani to execute a Power of Attorney linked to the property.
Ozekhome was accused of assisting in the alleged impersonation by jointly executing the Power of Attorney to support the property claim.
The prosecution also alleged that Ozekhome had control of the London property and about £18,000 in rent proceeds, which investigators believe may have been unlawfully obtained.
Further counts accused the defendants of forging an immigration authentication document in 2023 to strengthen their ownership claim.
The Federal Government said investigations have been substantially completed and that evidence exists to support prosecution, while the court is expected to fix a date for arraignment.
