According to the organisers, the scheme seeks to tackle unemployment, poverty, and youth restiveness by equipping participants with practical tools to build sustainable income and contribute to national growth.
The programme focuses on sectors such as agriculture, fashion, technology, entertainment, sports, renewable energy, and other productive industries.
Eligibility requirements stipulate that applicants must be Nigerian citizens aged between 18 and 35 years, possess a valid NIN and BVN, and maintain an active account with Lotus Bank, Keystone Bank, or Fidelity Bank. They must also be willing to attend compulsory training and mentorship sessions.
In a statement released by MSME Africa, the Federal Government urged interested and eligible youths to apply through the official YEIDEP portal and follow the registration steps carefully. It also advised applicants to join the YEIDEP Facebook page for verified updates and avoid unofficial sources.

The scheme’s reopening follows earlier postponements linked to fraudulent attempts by impostors seeking to exploit unsuspecting Nigerians. Authorities have since strengthened the verification process to ensure transparency and accountability.
The Federal Government said the YEIDEP initiative reflects President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s renewed commitment to youth empowerment and inclusive economic growth.
Beneficiaries will also receive entrepreneurship training, mentorship opportunities, and access to development services aimed at building sustainable enterprises.
With the 2025 rollout, the government expressed confidence that the YEIDEP programme will play a crucial role in reducing unemployment, promoting small-scale enterprises, and strengthening the nation’s economic resilience.
