FG Seeks EU’s Help to Extradite Biafra Leader Simon Ekpa | Daily Report Nigeria

The Federal Government is working with the European Union to secure the extradition of Simon Ekpa, leader of the Biafra Government in Exile (BRGIE), from Finland.

This move comes in response to Ekpa’s announcement of plans to unveil a new Biafra map on December 2, 2024.

Major General Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, confirmed that while military actions against the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Eastern Security Network (ESN) will continue, diplomatic efforts are underway to bring Ekpa to justice.

“The FG would respond appropriately to the Finnish Government through the EU. On the part of the military, troops would sustain operations against IPOB/ESN,” Buba said.

Ekpa’s declaration, made via social media, includes the unveiling of the “40 United States of Biafra” as part of a broader push for Biafra’s independence.

He stated, “The Biafra Government is preparing to present the complete map of Biafra on December 2, 2024.”
