  • The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has postponed its 2025 recruitment portal launch to Monday, July 14.
  • Applicants are to visit the new portal — recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng — and must apply to only one agency to avoid disqualification.
  • The Board stressed that all applications are free and warned against making any form of payment during the process.

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has adjusted the opening date for its 2025 recruitment portal, which was initially scheduled to go live on Thursday, June 26.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by the Secretary to the Board, the portal will now open on Monday, July 14, 2025, with the new official link for applications being https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng.

This change affects prospective applicants seeking to join any of the four paramilitary services under the board — the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), Federal Fire Service (FFS), and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

“The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), wishes to notify the general public that its recruitment portal which was earlier slated to open on Thursday 26th June, 2025, will now open on Monday 14th July, 2025,” the statement read.

It added, “Also, the Board’s portal address for prospective applicants desiring to apply into the Service of their choice is now: recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng. Applicants are kindly requested to take note of the above changes as well as be reminded that all applications are free and do not attract any payment. Any inconvenience caused by this change is highly regretted, please.”

Before this adjustment, the Board had earlier on Tuesday announced the commencement of the 2025 recruitment exercise into its affiliated services. The process covers multiple roles under three major categories: Superintendent Cadre, Inspectorate Cadre, and Assistant Cadre.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must be Nigerian citizens between the ages of 18 and 35 and must meet both physical and medical fitness standards. Male candidates are expected to be at least 1.65 metres tall with a minimum chest measurement of 0.87 metres, while female candidates must not be shorter than 1.60 metres. A clean criminal record and good character are also mandatory.

Academic Qualifications

All candidates must possess a minimum of a senior secondary school certificate with four or five credits, including English and Mathematics. Those with advanced qualifications such as NCE, OND, HND, or university degrees in areas like law, medicine, or technical fields are also eligible to apply.

How to Apply

Though the launch date has been shifted, the application process remains the same:
1. Visit the Portal: Log on to https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng once the portal opens.
2. Create an Account: Use a valid email and phone number to register.
3. Select Agency and Role: Choose only one agency — NSCDC, NIS, NCoS, or FFS — and select a role under any of the three categories.
4. Fill in Details: Enter personal information, academic history, and upload required documents.
5. Review and Submit: Cross-check entries before submission.
6. Save Acknowledgement Slip: Print or download your slip after a successful application.

The Board has reiterated that no fees are required at any point during the recruitment process and warned applicants against engaging in multiple applications.

“Applicants are kindly reminded that all applications are free and do not attract any payment,” the Board stressed.

The CDCFIB is urging all eligible Nigerians to take note of the new portal address and adjusted date, as well as to comply strictly with all stated guidelines to avoid disqualification.
