The Minister of State for Transportation, Ademola Adegoroye has assured that female professional and commercial drivers would be encouraged with maximum support by the federal government.
The Minister gave the assurance when he received the leadership of Female Drivers Association of Nigeria (FEDAN) in his office in Abuja on Wednesday.
He noted that his ministry would look into the challenges of the female drivers and ensure that they are given the necessary recognition.

A statement by the Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the minister, Ebenezer Adeniyan, states that female commercial drivers are special and must be encouraged to help them flourish in their chosen profession.
Adegoroye further noted that the federal ministry of transportation would look into the request of the association to have female professional drivers employed in the ministry, stressing the need for government to give the needed recognition to female drivers.
Meanwhile, FEDAN President Eunice Odeghe remarked earlier that the association was formed to bring all women professional drivers and automobile workers together under one umbrella to promote their interests and deal with their challenges.
The association also decorated the minister as its patron.
