According to Oyedele, the nationwide competition is designed to deepen public understanding of the government’s tax reforms and to inspire youth-led innovation in fiscal policy discourse.

He explained that the challenge is open to undergraduates in all Nigerian tertiary institutions as well as graduates currently in the NYSC programme or awaiting mobilisation.

“The aim,” Oyedele said, “is to raise awareness, promote tax education, and encourage constructive dialogue among young Nigerians about the ongoing reforms.”

He added that participants are expected to study the new tax laws and produce an article, video, podcast, radio piece, or social media post related to the reforms, published between 1 July and 31 December 2025.

Entries will be judged on creativity, factual accuracy, and engagement value. The first prize winner will receive ₦5 million, the second ₦3 million, and the third ₦2 million, with several consolation prizes for top participants across all geopolitical zones.

Oyedele revealed that these consolation awards include gadgets, internship or employment opportunities, and recognition as Tax Reform Youth Ambassadors, who will help drive fiscal literacy and civic participation in tax-related discussions nationwide.
