Super Eagles head coach, Finidi George, insists his team must not give up on qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup despite their recent defeat to Benin Republic.

The former African champions lost 2-1 to Benin Republic in their matchday four encounter in Abidjan on Monday night, leaving them in fifth position in Group C after four matches.

Finidi urged his players to remain determined and committed.

“There’s no special formula to win; we need to see how the players will start a new season and get the best out of them,” Finidi said. “Everyone must be committed. I believe we can win games and remain in the battle.

“We can’t give up just because we have only three points. We need to find a way to get the players back on track to perform.”
