Fire Breaks Out On Lagos Blue Line Rail Section

A fire broke out on a section of the Lagos Blue Line track on Saturday afternoon, causing temporary disruption but no reported injuries.

The incident occurred around 4:12 p.m. near the NEPA Station, adjacent to the Eko Bridge in the Apogbon area.

Gboyega Akosile, spokesperson for Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, confirmed that there were no train operations at the time of the fire.

He stated, “Lagosians in that area can go about their business peacefully as the situation is under control.” Akosile emphasized the swift action of safety and emergency personnel who extinguished the blaze without incident.

Authorities are now investigating the cause of the fire.

The Lagos State government has promised to provide updates regarding the operational status of the train services managed by the Lagos State Motor Transport Authority (LAMATA).
