A fire outbreak on Tuesday morning ravaged part of a 30-room residential building in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State.
The incident occurred around 9:40 a.m. at Down Winners, behind Tomopewa Apartments in the Tanke Oke-Odo area of the city.

According to the spokesman for the Kwara State Fire Service, Hassan Adekunle, firefighters responded swiftly after receiving a distress call and were able to contain the fire before it caused more extensive damage.
“On arrival, the fire crew swiftly commenced operations to curtail the spread and damage,” Adekunle stated.
He confirmed that the affected building is a storey structure with 30 rooms, and that three rooms on the upper floor were destroyed in the blaze.
Preliminary investigations suggest the fire was triggered by a power surge.
The Director of the State Fire Service urged residents to remain vigilant and adopt safety measures to prevent similar incidents.
Businessman Arraigned in Abuja for Allegedly Diverting N2.1 Million Meant for Iron Rods
A 36-year-old businessman, Eze Shedrach, was on Tuesday arraigned before a Life Camp Magistrates’ Court in Abuja for allegedly defrauding a customer of N2.1 million.
Shedrach, whose address is opposite Mountain of Fire Church, Mpape, Abuja, was charged with criminal breach of trust and cheating by the police. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.
