Fire gutted Rivers State House of Assembly Complex on Sunday night, shortly after reports of a potential impeachment procedure against Governor Siminalayi Fubara emerged.
The fire, which began at approximately 10 p.m., was promptly extinguished.
Security agents from the nearby Rivers Police Command swiftly responded to the incident, and a fire truck was observed on the premises.
Despite attempts by newsmen to gather information from members of the House, no details were obtained.

While the cause of the fire remained uncertain, there were speculations of a disagreement between Governor Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike.
