Fire Outbreak: Tension in Kano as Emir Sanusi's Palace is Gutted | Daily Report Nigeria

A fire outbreak has caused tension in Kano after a palace occupied by the 16th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi, was gutted by fire. The incident occurred on Friday night at around 11 pm at the Gidan Rumfa palace, where one of the palaces located at Kofar Kudu was seriously affected.

According to sources, the fire was suspected to have been set by yet-to-be-identified persons who broke into the palace, set the fire, and locked the door.

The throne, air conditioners, and other valuables in the palace were destroyed.

The Chief of Staff to the Emir, Munir Sanusi Bayero, Dan Buram Kano, confirmed the incident and stated that there were no casualties and the damage was minimal.

He also stated that the palace is taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety and security of the palace and its occupants and is investigating the cause of the fire to prevent future incidents.
