Fire razes Ajah market, destroys goods worth millions | Daily Report Nigeria

A devastating fire broke out at Ajah Market, near Alesh Bus Stop in Lagos State, late on Sunday night, destroying goods worth millions of naira.

The blaze ignited around 9 p.m., affecting several shops filled with combustible materials.

Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), reported that the agency, in collaboration with the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Services, responded quickly to contain the fire.

Fortunately, there were no injuries or fatalities, as the market was closed for Sunday.

“The LASEMA Response Team, along with the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, managed to prevent the fire from spreading to neighboring buildings,” Oke-Osanyintolu stated. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
