In a recent interview with Billboard News in Los Angeles, Nigerian singer Fireboy DML, born Adedamola Adefolahan, opened up about his journey to success, revealing that he turned down multiple offers from heavyweight artists and music executives before ultimately signing with rapper Olamide’s YBNL Nation in 2018.

The “Peru” crooner shared that he declined other deals because he believed that joining Olamide’s label was the right decision for his career.

“I rejected a couple of deals from big artists that wanted to sign me. But when Olamide came, I knew it was the right decision. And that process has really helped me in making decisions going forward,” he said.
