Two people have been confirmed dead, following an altercation between a soldier and a policeman.
The incident, which reportedly happened in the Agyaragu community in Obi Local Government Area saw the demise of two individuals, which includes the soldier.

According to reports from the spokesperson of the police command, Ramhan Nansel, in a statement released on Sunday, the fight broke out following an altercation between the soldier and a police constable.
The fight which happened in front of Agyaragu market, resulted in both of them stabbing each other.

Nansel added that they were both rushed to the hospital, where the soldier died while receiving treatment.
He said;
“Youths from the soldier’s neighbourhood mobilised and attacked a police station in the area.
“The police on duty repelled the attack and in the melee, one other person was confirmed dead, while two are currently receiving treatment at the hospital,”
Nansel also added that peace has been restored to the area, also adding that the police is working on investigating the cause of the matter.
