A young girl has been burnt beyond recognition, following a fire outbreak in Ondo state.
Daily Report Nigeria gathers that the incident happened after fire engulfed an apartment in Ondo town, trapping and killing the girl.
The incident happened in the Samakinwa area of Ondo town, the headquarters of Ondo West Local Government area of Ondo State around 4:00 pm on Monday, April 14, 2025.
It was gathered that the minor was mentally unstable, and was locked in a room in the apartment by her guardian who went to church.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the fire started as a result of an electrical surge, which burnt properties and the 9-year-old minor.
Confirming the incident, The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Yaba Division, CSP Victor Olowolagba said four people have been arrested, for questioning, and the remains of the deceased were taken to the morgue.
Residents have also cried out to the government for help and support, following the rising case of fire outbreaks in the state.
