Security operatives have swung into action to prevent a reprisal following a suspected poisoning of cattles in the area.

This comes after a couple of cows fell ill after grazing on a farmland in Plateau state.
Operatives of the of Operation Safe Haven have swung into action, following a case of poisoning in Plateau state.
According to reports, a total of 32 cows which were belonging to a herder in the area died after eating poisoned tomato and garden eggs.
Security analyst, Zagazola Makama reported that the incident happened on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 in a field along the Zawura-Jebbu Miango axis, between Dutsen Kura and Jebbu Miango.
The herder in question, identified as Mr. Samaila Nuhu said his cows started misbehaving and showing symptom of poisoning after grazing the area.
A search in the area shows an area scattered with tomatoes and garden eggs scattered around, which were said to be have been intentionally poisoned.
Troops under Sector 3 of OPSH, deployed to the scene following a distress call, confirmed that the cattle had already been slaughtered by the herders themselves, in a bid to salvage any usable meat.
The visit served to calm tensions and forestall any reprisal attacks from the affected Fulani community.
