The family members of a young boy have been thrown into mourning, following his tragic murder by a police officer.

Daily Report Nigeria gathers that the victim, a 17-year-old boy, identified as Emeka Odogwu, was reportedly shot dead by a police over arguments about fireworks.

Although full details of the incident are sketchy as at the time of filing this report, the incident was reported to have happened in Ozoro community, Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State on Saturday night, December 8.

It was gathered that the deceased had attempted to run away when the trigger-happy policeman shot at him.

The spokesperson of the state police command, SP Bright Edafe noted that the officer has been arrested and detained.
