Following the recent natural disaster in the Mokwa Local Government area of Niger State, residents and affected victims have cried out to the government.
Daily Report Nigeria recalls not less than 50 homes being washed away by heavy rains, displacing residents, and drowning many others.

Confirming the incident, the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs in Niger State, Ahmad Suleiman said the death toll from the disaster has risen to 200, from the 115 retrieved bodies earlier reported by Daily Report Nigeria.
He made this known during an interview with Channels Television’s The Morning Brief on Tuesday, adding that authorities are actively working to salvage the situation.
We have more than 200 casualties or corpses but we are still looking for more,” he said. “Nobody can tell you the number of casualties in Niger State right now because up till now, we are still looking for some corpses.”
