Nigerian music legend Innocent “2Baba” Idibia has spoken publicly for the first time since the storm around his marriage to Natasha Osawaru erupted online. The singer, who has faced days of intense scrutiny, apologised during a public appearance and pleaded for calm from fans, family and the public.
The controversy began when two of his former managers, Kaka Igbokwe and Lori Tosan, claimed during a live session hosted by Daddy Freeze that Natasha had attempted to take “full control” of 2Baba’s finances and career. Things escalated on air when 2Baba joined the live broadcast to warn his former managers to stop discussing his marriage. Moments later, a heated exchange between him and Natasha was overheard off-camera before the live session abruptly ended.
Soon after, members of 2Baba’s family submitted a petition to the Inspector-General of Police, accusing Natasha of assault, bigamy, and financial misconduct. They also alleged she assaulted him both in Nigeria and the UK and withheld critical documents such as his passport.
But 2Baba has rejected his family’s claims, insisting their attempt to “protect” him is causing more damage.

The singer’s emotional apology has triggered mixed reactions online, with many calling for the drama to end so the couple can address their issues privately.
