Former member of the House of Representatives, Gudaji Kazaure has listed Twelve “corrupt” individuals President Bola Tinubu and his government need to probe to recover Nigeria’s stolen money.

Kazaure made the recommendation during an appearance on the Brekete Family program on Thursday.

To Kazaure, certain individuals must be prosecuted if Tinubu’s administration was truly committed to recovering all stolen funds.

He also commended Tinubu’s government for the swift removal of subsidy, stating that subsidy payments were fraudulent and a means of stealing Nigeria’s resources.

He said:

“That is why I am calling the attention of Mr President, as he came in, he shows that he is serious. There are people in his government and there are people that assisted him who are part of this mess. He should close his eyes.

“No matter who is close to him, no matter who is in the government. If he’s found (to be involved) in this issue, he should return government money, amicably because this is what we are planning now.

“If he didn’t do it, then disgrace. So there are 12 people, which I will read them now. The first person if you want to bring back the economy of this country and we are serious. We have to arrest and investigate Central Bank Governor (Godwin Emefiele) who is now under investigation.

“Secondly, the EFCC (Economic and Financial Crimes Commission) chairman (Abdulrasheed Bawa); and when we are investigating the EFCC chairman we have to invite the former chairman, (Ibrahim) Magu to bring some things that he left in the office.

“Thirdly, the GMD of the NNPC (Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, Mele Kyari). Number four, the former minister of justice, (Abubakar) Malami. Number five, Sabiu Tunde, who was the personal private secretary to former President (Muhammadu) Buhari.

“Number six, there is Muhammad Nami, the chairman of FIRS (Federal Inland Revenue Service). Then there is Jamoh (Bashir Yusuf), the NIMASA (Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency) DG. Then there is (Mohamed Bello) Koko, the NPA (Nigerian Ports Authority), and the former NPA chairman, Hadiza Bala.

“Then all CBN deputy governors, present, those that are working with Emefiele. We have to invite and investigate the former minister of humanitarian affairs, Sadiya Umar Farouq.

“Then the entire leaders of NIBSS, National Inter-Bank Settlement System, the entire leaders and ICT officers there. They are supposed to be investigated because they are the ones that will tell you where all the bank charges and stamp duty went because it is from there that money goes to the Central Bank. They opened a secret account, sending money to the government and they also send some to the private account.

“Let Mr President bring back my committee. Secondly, let him allow me to work with only the DG DSS (Department of State Services) because he is an uncompromised person and he is ready to help this country.”
