The PDP’s Public Relations Officer in the state, Andeta’rang Irammae, also expressed the party’s sadness and offered prayers for the deceased.

Irammae said:

”His loss at this time of our political journey is sad and colossal as the government and party that he had assiduously worked for would have continued to benefit from his fountain of wisdom and knowledge ”

Kona served as Chairman of the party from March 2012 to August 2020, during which he played a crucial role in the party’s growth and sustained leadership in the state.

He later resigned to run for the governorship position and emerged victorious thereby handing over to Kefas as Chairman of the party.
