Former Super Eagles Midfielder Christian Obodo Kidnapped in Delta

Erstwhile Super Eagles midfielder, Christian Obodo, has been again kidnapped by unknown gunmen along the popular Refinery Road in Warri, Delta State.

Accordinh to the Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command, Onome Onovawakpoyeya, the former Udinese star was kidnapped on Sunday by his assailant while trying to purchase bananas.

“Obodo was kidnapped at about 5pm on Sunday around Ishaka Hotel just along Refinery Road.”

“He was with his girlfriend when he was abducted. They both stopped by the road to buy bananas.”

The police spokesperson added that no ransom has been demanded by his kidnappers.

This is the second time the former Super Eagles midfielder has been kidnapped in Delta state.

He was first kidnapped by unknown gunmen on June 9, 2012, on his way to church in the same Warri.

Police later traced his kidnappers to the Isoko area of the state a day after his abduction to rescue and arrest suspects.
