Frank Lampard Expresses Sympathy for Chelsea’s player After Missed Chances in FA Cup Semi-Final

Frank Lampard

Chelsea legend Frank Lampard empathized with Nicolas Jackson after the 22-year-old striker missed multiple scoring opportunities during Chelsea’s FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City on Saturday.

City triumphed 1-0 over Chelsea at Wembley, with Bernardo Silva’s goal sealing their place in the final.

Jackson struggled to find the back of the net, failing to convert his chances, which ultimately cost Chelsea a spot in the FA Cup final.

Despite his sympathy for Jackson, Lampard acknowledged that the Senegalese forward’s performance fell short of what Chelsea expects from their primary striker.

“I feel for him a little bit because he made lots of good movement, he is a young striker, the attributes we saw in him today where he is racing Kyle Walker, he is shown pace, he’s shown good movement but there’s a technical detail there.

“The extra touch, the decision making at the highest level in these highest level of games are the difference,” Lampard said as quoted by Metro UK.

“The header, you hit anywhere but his body it’s a goal. Little decision making, I feel for him, we’ve all been there, we’ve all missed chances and it’s a critical one for the game.

“But as a young player that’s the level that you have to be a striker for Chelsea.”
