Who Is Frank Uduak Akpan?
Frank Uduak Akpan is a Nigerian and w native of Uyo, Akwa Ibom.
Frank came to the limelight after being accused of kidnapping, raping, and murdering Iniubong Umoren. Reports showed that the victim, a graduate of Philosophy from the University of Uyo, was a job seeker at that time.

According to reports, Umoren, who was waiting to be mobilized for the compulsory National Youth Service Corps was lured by Akpan in the pretense of having a job for her.
Upon reaching his house, Akpan raped her and then killed her.
Meanwhile, Frank denied kidnapping Iniubong Umoren.
How Frank Uduak Akpan was caught
Before Umoren left for the said job interview, she told her friend, Uduak Umoh. Umoh raised the alarm after hearing her scream during their last phone conversation.
“She sent me a 1sec audio on WhatsApp and I called her to know whether she wanted to say something to me, but immediately I called her, I heard her screaming” ms Umoh tweeted during the search for Umoren.
Police investigations led to the retrieval of late Umoren’s body in Akpan’s family house on April 30, 2021.
During the court hearing, Akpan confessed to the crime, he said;
“I first used a condom to have sex with her, but I removed it because I didn’t enjoy it. She got infuriated and I reached out to a stabilizer and a box iron and used it to hit her abdominal part and she started to bleed.
I hit her again and she screamed, then I used her jean trouser to strangle her and she became lifeless ”
Court Sentence
After being found guilty, Justice Bassey Nkanang, on August 4 sentenced Frank to death by hanging for the murder of Umoren.
He, however, discharged and acquitted the father and sister of Mr. Akpan, who was the 2nd and the 3rd defendant in the case.
After the court ruling, Akpan attempted to run out of the court but it took the intervention of the security operatives on the ground to stop him from escaping.
