Born in Abuja, Uchenna began his career at Nasarawa United before moving to Sweden’s BK Häcken and later Norwegian side Sarpsborg, where he made 60 appearances, scored five goals, and was named Player of the Year in 2023.
He also brings European experience, having featured in Champions League and Europa League qualifiers with Häcken.
Internationally, he made his Nigeria debut in 2021 in a friendly against Mexico.
Although his transfer was completed too late for Red Star’s 4–1 win over FK Mladost Lučani, his registration for the Champions League play-off against Pafos remains uncertain.
Uchenna is expected to settle quickly in Belgrade, helped by the presence of fellow Nigerian Peter Olayinka.
