A fresh coup attempt in Burkina Faso has been successfully thwarted by the country’s intelligence and security services.

The coup was directed against the military government and was foiled by the defense and security forces.

According to a statement regarding to attack officers and others plotted to “destabilize” the country with “the dark intention of attacking the institutions of the Republic and plunging our country into chaos.”

The attempt occurred on Tuesday, and the individuals involved have either been apprehended or are being pursued.

Its statement added:
Investigations will help unmask the instigators of this plot.”

The junta has commended the defense and security forces for their patriotic actions and unwavering commitment to safeguarding the country from those seeking to regress into the past.
