“The friend said they woke up and found Ebere dead on the ground, and started shouting, which drew the attention of the hotel management.
“That hotel is a den of drugs, as young people troop there for drugs. And the information I got was that someone had died in the hotel in the past. A lot of things are happening there. We are pleading with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency to visit the hotel.”
Meanwhile, a brother of the deceased, who chose not to be named, stated that the family had no interest in pursuing an investigation and was only focused on retrieving the body for burial.
“We are not doing any investigation. We are trying to carry the body for burial. That is all,” he said.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer for Delta State Command, SP Bright Edafe, disclosed that Ebere’s friend had been arrested as part of an ongoing investigation.
“The suspect will not be released until an autopsy is carried out to ascertain the cause of the death.
