The exercise, led by Sector Commander Akinwunmi Fasakin (represented by Samuel Ogundayo), involved distributing flyers and addressing motorists at major motor parks, including Panseke Motor Park.
Motorists were advised to avoid common traffic offences that often lead to accidents, including:
• Excessive speeding
• Dangerous overtaking
• Overloading of passengers and goods
• Use of mobile phones while driving
• Driving under the influence of alcohol or fatigue
The FRSC stressed that the goal is to ensure travellers reach their destinations safely during the festive period.
In Lagos, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority also assured residents of smooth traffic flow during the celebrations.
The General Manager, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, said the agency would enforce traffic laws strictly, warning against:
• Reckless driving
• Illegal parking
• One-way driving
He emphasized a zero-tolerance policy for violations that could endanger lives or disrupt movement.
