“Let me congratulate you,” Fubara said. “A few of us, not by our strength or wisdom, but by God’s grace, find ourselves in exalted positions. It is not because we are the best but simply by His favour.”
The governor explained that the position of Secretary to the State Government carries great honour, having been held by only a few individuals since the creation of Rivers State. He urged the new appointee to uphold integrity, respect, and selflessness in service.
“This is a rare privilege. Guard that office with dignity and discharge your duties with honour. Protect the interest of Rivers State. When you eventually leave office, let your name be remembered with respect, that only comes through responsible service,” Fubara advised.
The governor expressed confidence in Anabraba’s ability to deliver, citing his past experience as a principal officer in the Rivers State House of Assembly. He noted that the appointment was a call to serve, not an opportunity to wield power.
He further reassured citizens that his administration is fully committed to maintaining peace, strengthening unity, and restoring public trust after recent political challenges in the state.

The governor urged Anabraba to perform his duties diligently and contribute meaningfully to the success of the administration. “By God’s grace, do your work well and help us deliver on the responsibilities entrusted to us,” he added.
