Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has expressed optimism about restoring peace with his predecessor and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike. Fubara, who was suspended for six months, met with President Bola Tinubu and Wike to seek reconciliation.
The rift between Fubara and Wike affected governance in Rivers State, prompting President Tinubu to declare a state of emergency. However, Fubara believes there’s no reason why peace can’t be restored between him and his “Oga,” referring to Wike.

Fubara’s supporters are hopeful that the reconciliation efforts will bring stability to Rivers State.
As Fubara noted, “I want to earn your respect by not bossing you but serving you. Feel free to tell me when I make mistakes.”
