The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has threatened a full and indefinite nationwide strike should there be an increase in fuel price from the current N617.

Daily Report Nigeria reports that NLC Chairman Joe Ajaero made the threat during the African Trade Union Alliance, ATUA meeting in Abuja on Monday.

According to Ajaero, the union will go ahead with its strike if the government did not listen to its demands.

This newspaper previously reported how the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) announced a possible pump price hike on Monday.

IPMAN’s President Chinedu Okoronkwo said that as long as the dollar continued to rise against the naira in the foreign exchange market, the fuel price in the country will rise.

Okoronkwo had said:

As long as the dollar keeps rising against the naira in the foreign exchange market, the price of fuel in the country will continue to increase.”
