Fulham finished top of the Championship after a 2-1 win at Millwall. Stoke City finished second after a comfortable 3-1 victory against Swansea City. There were wins for  Luton, Coventry, Huddersfield, and Bristol City.

Marco Silva’s Fulham remained undaunted as they triumphed 2-1 at Millwall

The relegated West Londoners’ trip across the capital has finally ended as they round up the Five of Tuesday’s seven second-tier fixtures in victory. Fulham had a fine start thanks to Aleksandar Mitrovic’s netting in the third minute. After the 18-year-old Fabio Carvalho doubled their lead six minutes later. The visitors were leading most times during the match until Benik Afobe’s late header placed them on edge towards the end.

Other Victors of the league

Stoke finished second, with Sam Clucas featuring, in the 3-1 victory against his former club, Swansea. Nick Powell was the first to make a lead to which Clucas added. He held his shirt in celebration before Leo Ostigard added a third goal. Swansea substitute Joel Pirone pulled a goal back.

Former Stoke boss Nathan Jones was present, as his team, Luton, had triumphed with a 1-0 at Barnsley to finish third, all thanks to Amari’i Bell’s goal; his first goal since March 2019.

Coventry ended the evening as fourth, as Viktor Gyokeres’ goal on the stroke of half-time sealing a 1-0 win at Blackpool made it happen. At Reading, Bristol City held their nerve to secure a 3-2 win to finish fifth in victory.

Nigel Pearson’s men, Andreas Weimann and Chris Martin put the club on a 2-0 ahead after 14 minutes at the Madejski Stadium. It was short-lived as Femi Azeez was quick to reduce the arrears, Weimann wasted no time in the second half to grab his second goal, but Liam Moore countered as Reading pushed for a leveler to no avail.

The only home side to triumph on Tuesday was Huddersfield, following Sepp van den Berg’s own goal as it was enough to kick off Preston 1-0. While Aden Flint was Cardiff’s hero; Peterborough was denied victory at the death.

Ferguson’s newly-promoted side was in for a successive victory when Harrison Burrows and Siriki Dembele struck twice in the space of three minutes early in the second half.

The city’s didn’t fold arms as they had other ideas, and applied pressure to snatch a draw. Flint scored two clinical headers, both courtesy of exquisite Marlon Pack crosses.
