Gabriel Martinelli, the Brazilian forward for Arsenal, has revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo is his idol. Martinelli admired Ronaldo’s game from a young age, especially during the Portuguese star’s time at Real Madrid.
Since joining Arsenal from Brazilian club Ituano for £6 million in 2019, Martinelli has become a key player for the Gunners. At 22, he has made 174 appearances for Arsenal, scoring 41 goals and providing 24 assists.
Joining many other young players who look up to Ronaldo, Martinelli said, according to Madrid Xtra, “My idol? I always liked Cristiano Ronaldo. As a child, I watched his games at Real Madrid.”
